The MBC-IQ bias voltage controller from Plugtech is a high-performance automatic bias voltage controller specifically designed for Electro-Optic (EO) single-polarization IQ modulators. Its principle involves injecting dither signals of different frequencies, analyzing the working point errors of the I, Q, and P arms of the modulator, and adjusting the three output bias voltages accordingly to keep the modulator in optimal working condition at all times. Based on an optimized control algorithm, the MBC-IQ controller supports QPSK, QAM-x, SSB, and ODFM applications. Users can easily achieve these applications without parameter settings or manual calibration.
The MBC-IQ controller supports serial communication. Users can switch the controller's working mode (automatic/manual), customize the output voltage for each arm, adjust the dither signal amplitude, read system working parameters, and set special working points via GUI software or by sending standard commands.
